You will be staying in a building that served as the cherished home of Ture Magnus Aleksander Ilmonen (1890–1958), the office manager of the Verla mill, and his wife Märta from 1931 to 1956. VB1, also known as the "Officials' House" (Virkamiestalo), was originally part of a school and staff residence located on the Jaala side of the river. The building was later detached and rebuilt in its current location on the Valkeala side.

Following an extensive, multi-year renovation completed in the summer of 2025, this historic residence now welcomes visitors to the Verla World Heritage Site. Today, it offers three individually bookable double rooms alongside unique, experiential common spaces shared by the guests.
