You will be staying in the building that, from 1931 to 1956, served as the beloved home of the Verla mill’s office manager, Ture Magnus Aleksander Ilmonen (1890–1958), and his wife Märta. VB1, also known as ”Virkamiestalo” (The Officials' House), was originally part of a school and staff residence building on the Jaala side of the river. The structure was later detached and rebuilt here on the Valkeala side in its current location.
An extensive, multi-year renovation of VB1 Ilmonen was completed in the summer of 2025. Today, this historic house welcomes visitors to the Verla World Heritage site, offering three individually bookable double rooms and unique, experiential shared spaces for its guests.
