The dining room at VB1 is the natural gathering space of the Ilmonen home, a place where everyday moments and special occasions easily share the same table. Sheltered within VB1 Ilmonen, the former home of a family that lived in Verla for decades, it is easy to sense the rhythm of the old mill village: the day's tasks are left behind as everyone gathers around the same table.
The centerpiece of the room is a large, sturdy dining set with comfortable chairs that accommodate eight people—perfect for meetings, dining, or simply lingering a little longer. A grand, impressive tiled stove (kakluuni) serves as a reminder of days gone by, when its purpose was to fill the room with soft warmth and make the dining room exceptionally inviting, especially on chilly evenings. Direct access to the kitchen makes the space highly practical: serving food is effortless, fresh coffee is always within quick reach, and socializing flows naturally.
Two vintage lattice windows look out across the Verla rapids toward the heart of the mill area. The scenery binds the dining room tightly to Verla: the same water, the same village, the same story—only more tranquil now, observed from the comfort of your own table.
